And, it's off

I just emailed my manuscript off to my editor. 55,000 words on New York and Paris, macarons and cupcakes, croissants and muffins, Pierre Hermé and Ladurée, friends and family, Velibs and more Velibs, French toast and le pain perdu, ecstasy and depression, Milo and my treehouse...

I am happy, relieved, and sort of in awe that, oui, that was my life. Two sublime (though sometimes difficult and maddening) years in Paris.

Thank you ALL for your support, insights and camaraderie—you are part of the story! Thank you, merci from the bottom of my grateful heart. Let the transatlantic adventures continue! xo

  15. Late tho I may be, congratulations on completion! The champagne must have been drunk, but I say have someone pick you up another just to get you through the aftermath of your accomplishment. It should also help keep you in a Parisian frame of mind for when the rewrites kick in.

  18. I'm with Andi up there. :) I posted on FB when you announced, but since I was back here on your blog today, I just wanted to say again how excited I am for you. Truly. I could be envious, I suppose, as many might be, but really what I feel deep down is, "YES! It is possible! It happens! People DO this and it comes to fruition!!!" I love to see when creative and nice, kind, intelligent people achieve their book-writing dreams. It reminds me there are small justices in the world. Can't wait until the finished product is in my hands!
